Where can I buy a gold leaf?

Ever since I read that that Egyptians mastered the art of beating gold into leaf, I have developed a fascination for gold leaves. If I can’t get a golden branch containing several gold leaves, at least I would like to own one gold leaf, probably the size of almond leaf. (Smile)

I asked around, browsed a lot for an online shop that sells gold leaves. No, I could not find one. I spent time in gold investing forums and asked questions. I got three replies from three different continents that I should try Monex.com where you can purchase silver, gold or other precious metals and coins at the best rate possible.

If they don’t sell gold leaf, at least they can direct me to the source. That is the opinion of the forum members.

May be, I will try Monex; after all, they are trusted by all Americans.

The biggest RSS feed directory.

If someone says that the purpose of RSS is actually not clear, then he should quit the Internet immediately. Without the wonder technology called RSS, we would not be able to gather news from one thousand resources by sitting in front of our PC in our bedroom.

So, ignoring about those types of persons, I want to introduce to others like me who thrive on RSS, a directory of RSS feeds. RSS directories are sites that collate all RSS links and place them in different categories for other applications to use.

RSS Mountain is one of the biggest RSS feed directories out there, currently featuring more than 1.2 million feeds listed in more than 30 categories, and still growing.

Once, I was surprised that my own blog link was displayed when I was browsing the feeds in my Google reader. That is the power of RSS for you.

A search engine cum bookmarking site.

I stumbled onto this great useful site http://sphere.com

How do you find good blogs in a specific topic? We open Technorati or Blogdigger etc and search for blogs dealing with a specific topic.

But Sphere is not just a blog search engine but offers something significance.
This is a search engine cum bookmarking site.

Like any bookmarking site, you add their tool "Sphere it" to your Links.

For example, you are reading this post and you go to your Links and click "Sphere it".
Now Sphere will analyze the content of this post, and presents you search results with links to other web sites that match the content of the page you are viewing currently.

You can also search the Sphere with specific keywords. It is really wonderful and I don't know how I have survived without it so far.

The largest medical supplies store online.

There was sheer surprise in store-I mean literally when I said ‘store’. The store was an online shop that deals with thousands of medical and allied products that include Diabetes strips, Kinesio tapes, computer gloves, breast feeding pillows, BP Monitors, catheters, back braces and many more.

There are a total of 55,000 products sold under hundreds of categories. Just a few minutes you spend in Allegromedical.com, and you will realize how big is this online store that is also one of the largest and most technologically advanced independently owned online retailers of life enhancing products in the United States.

My surprise factor was the number of allied products that were categorized under catheters. I wanted to find out the price for Urological catheter and I was amazed at the range offered to me.

Wonderful resource for medical practioners, paramedical people and of course for all of us.

The most relevant government information online resource.

When everyone wanted to go to the U.S, I wanted to go go to China. Now, it is my turn to reverse the preferences. I want to go to U.S. because I feel I have something to teach the American children and the adults too.
You may ask me why this sudden urge; what I have gained to share; why go to America when the Internet is available.

Yes, why not?

Here is something I will share with you. It is vital information.

Where do you look for authentic information about the U.S. Government. Of course there are official sites to look into but not many know the URLs of official sites.

Here is an alternative. GovSpot.com is a non-partisan government information portal designed to simplify the search for the best and most relevant government information online.

It is a free and virtual resource center for U.S. citizens, students, educators, business people, government employees and anyone exploring the Web for government information,

Online place for Seniors and caregivers.

Elderpost is designed to be a a Craigslist for Senior Care. This phrase itself explains everything I believe.

Elder Post is a place where Seniors, caregivers, and families can post ads or search for anything and everything having to do with Seniors, Care giving, and Aging. It is a free classified site for elders, seniors and me.

So, who can avail this free service?

Service and product providers, as well as people looking to work privately can post ads on the site. Why, I even noticed categories for government and non profit listings, articles, blogs, information on aging and elder care and more.

I am amazed at the diverse categories that seemed to have well thought of by the promoter of the web site Peter Silin, a social worker and Geriatric Care Manager in Vancouver, Canada.

Ads can be place for locations in the United Staes, Canada, Britain, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

A reverse search engine for images!

TinEye is a reverse image search engine. In a reverse search engine, you feed the end product (data) and get the source as a result of searching.

For example, you have an image of something and want to know where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions, you can get the details from Tin Eye!.

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

This is wonderful news to me. In fact I have been looking for such a search engine where it can tell me a little more about the images I have and I have a truck load of just images without any data pertaining to them.

While there, don’t forget to install the Firefox plugin of Tin Eye. With the plugin installed, simply right-click on any web image and select ‘Search Image on Tin Eye’.

Lingerie sales down in Japan.

Japanese women are rejecting the Americans’ favorite lingerie because they are now reverting back to loin clothes. This is news in real sense. This news is receiving several interpretations and one of them says loin clothes are now called Sexy Lingerie by Japanese women.

Sure, loin clothes are sexier than lingerie but they lack appeal. I don’t think women will feel sexy wearing anything other than modern lingerie and corsets. I foresee a turn around and lingerie will claim back its coveted place in fashion magazines in Japan.

Flirtylingerie.com is an exclusive online shop for inner garments that include corsets, chemises and garter belts. These very personal inner garments only make the women more confidence than external beauty applications. One can find great range of women’s products in this website.

Would any young man dare gift chemises and open busted lingerie to his valentine on Feb 14th?

Get things done by others.

My husband is a fine example of stress free living. He is very clear on what he will do and what he will let other do for a price. 'We can't possess all the skills' is his favorite cliche.

Echoing his opinions and views, here is a web site that is a sort of online skill matching platform where you get things done by others and you too do certain jobs for others.

Do My Stuff is a service that brings people together-both the skilled persons and the task requesters. If you are seeking a work to be done, then you do so by placing a bid.

I browsed through the list of outsourced tasks and I am amused the range of services that are in demand. Walking the dogs, cleaning up the garage, entering emails from business cards to computer (data entry), paint a tree are a few samples of outsourced work.

Visit the site to know how it works.

Professional web content for sale.

Don't look any further for your web content. Go to getmecontent.com. They sell several packages of web content like Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Gold content is written by U.S staff. Getmecontent.com also sells press release services for a price. Before ordering for web content, you can read through several sample write ups that are rather lengthy to me but well written.

There are some free stuff too like wordpress templates and a few graphics that I don't find useful to me. I believe the site does good business and caters to the needs of diverse web sites.
