Categorized image search engine for bloggers.

We search for images in Google. It takes time to choose what we want-right? Most of the times we want a specific image under a particular category that includes people, places, plant and animal.
There is no way you can search for the images of these in Google images.

http://ookaboo.com/ is a website that has arranged images under various categories. This makes it easy for us to to search for images that we want.

In addition, all the images that you see in http://ookaboo.com/ are free for use in blogs and websites as they are placed under public domain or Creative Commons.

How this image search engine works:
This image search engine employs the Semantic Indexing technology to categorize the search results.

At present it has over 505,000 images in its database.

Here is a male Humming bird that I searched for and got:

Watch terrible movies and enjoy criticizing them.

Have you have read a positive review of a movie? Yes but rarely.

Nevertheless, how many movie reviews you have read that criticized a movie? Yes, plenty.

This means the general human tendency is to derive pleasure while criticizing than appreciating-right? We may be happy to write a few appreciative words of a movie we watched but it is while writing something bad about a movie that we enjoy more.

If you belong to the second category, you should immediately head to http://terriblemovienight.com/

It is the best place to watch a terrible movie so that you can enjoy writing your feedback and mentioning your experience in web 2.0 sites.

Would I call this as an useful website? Read the labels dear.

You can be as disorganized as you can be.

My husband will remark about my absent mindedness like this:
" She will remember to forget". It is a not an exaggeration. I accept his verdict.

In spite of using sticky notes (literally) all over my home (yes, you can find them just about everywhere), I manage to forget to:
* shop things
* misplace my mobile phone
* misplace my whiteboard marker

Ah, that reminds me, I even used an online virtual whiteboard and fill it up with notes and reminders.

Are you like me? Can you use an online whiteboard?
Then go to http://www.squareleaf.net/
It offers a virtual sticky notes facility. What is attractive with it is, you can be as disorganized as you can be by writing wherever you want on the virtual board. It need not be neatly organized at all.

Suits me perfectly! How about you?

A recipe search engine.

A search engine dedicated exclusively for recipes and ingredients used in recipes is located at http://www.cookzillas.com/submit.php
Recipe web site owners and bloggers can submit their websites and blogs to be listed in CookZillas to enhance search engine rankings and to get targeted visitors.

If you visit the home page, you can search for any recipes or ingredients. This facility is for people like who like to cook new food or to know more about a particular ingredient.

I decided to test the effectiveness of it and typed in "Tulasi" also known as 'Basil'. The search result literally shocked me. There was no mention of it in the recipes shown.

I next tried to search for 'basil'. The result page matched it this time and yielded 80 recipes that had 'basil' as an ingredient.

Spread the word please!

Rate a driver in your state.

The internet with the advent of web 2.0 has provided us with useful interaction facilities that make us leave our opinion or feedback on any website or blog. Of course, I am not speaking about static web sites.

There are blogs, product review sites, micro-blogs and social networking sites where we can start a conversation with the author of the website. But this wonderful facility is not available offline.

I mean, when you see something that you feel the local Government authorities should look into, there are only limited ways to get them noticed.

Here is a fantastic website that allows you to rate the driver of a vehicle such as his parking habits, on road etiquette and so on.

Go to http://www.driver-ratings.com/ and fill out the numberplate details in a box and choose the state.
