Reliance launches jewelry store.

There was a widespread protest in several parts of India, when the telecom and petroleum giant Reliance opened a chain of vegetables shop in major cities in India.

The protest came from growers and small vendors. Somehow, the issue fizzled out.

Now, Reliance has opened its jewelry shop in Bangalore and so far, no protests were reported from anybody.

Obviously and expectantly, the shop is big occupying 6000 sq.ft in three floors in a prime area Jayanagar, Bangalore.

Spread over three floors, the 6000 sq feet store offers over 10,000 designs of exquisitely crafted jewellery from across the country to make it a one stop shopping destination for fine jewellery offering consumer a wide range in gold and diamond jewelery.

The entire range of gold jewels bear BIS hallmark. But customers who are loyal to Reliance may not even look for the purity certification.

The Indian jewelry industry is said to be Rs.70,000 crore worth. If only they open their shop in Madras, they are sure to displace several century old jewelers.
