A reverse search engine for images!

TinEye is a reverse image search engine. In a reverse search engine, you feed the end product (data) and get the source as a result of searching.

For example, you have an image of something and want to know where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions, you can get the details from Tin Eye!.

TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks.

This is wonderful news to me. In fact I have been looking for such a search engine where it can tell me a little more about the images I have and I have a truck load of just images without any data pertaining to them.

While there, don’t forget to install the Firefox plugin of Tin Eye. With the plugin installed, simply right-click on any web image and select ‘Search Image on Tin Eye’.
