Design your eBay sales page.

Why I am not a big success with my eBay venture? The obvious reason is my ignorance to design my eBay page in a presentable manner. I was one of the millions of eBayers that used only their default sales page to display my wares.

Even since then, I wanted to design my eBay page but never really gave priority to learn it. Now the time has come. I have just found a website that is promising and look professional.

Go to http://www.proimpulse.com/

They offer several services in the area of ecommerce web design. Try it.

Approach A.E.Feldman for high paying jobs.

A feed aggregator delivered this in my desktop news reader today:

We assist thriving small companies looking to expand their capabilities; and we locate, research and match potential merger opportunities that complement and generate synergy with the goals of parent companies.”

My first reaction was to find out who the ‘We’ are. As my son is aspiring to become a M.B.A graduate and want to work in the U.S., I thought this information on the rss feed would be of some use to him though I don’t know how. It is his job to figure out. He is about to complete his computer engineering degree.

The ‘we’ is A.E. Feldman Associates Inc, located in New York. My son hit the jackpot because his dream is to work in one of the high rise towers in New York.

Since 1967, A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc. has maintained a high standard of service and commitment in the recruiting field. They are more active in the field of financial institutions and helping them employ high profile candidates for risk management jobs and corporate finance management jobs.

New Social News website on Pop Culture.

Let me expand the 'Pop Culture'- Lifestyle, entertainment, sports, money and other stuff. So, one can further expand the 'Other Stuff' and include anything and everything that is excluded from their main four categories.biggrin I took it as an opportunity and submitted one of my blog posts that I thought will come under the 'other stuff'.

Of course, matured users won't indulge in universal exclusions like racism, hatred, war and etc, etc.

This social news sharing website is named 'Press That'.
Press That takes social news sharing to the next level by adding another twist to the ever growing market of news sharing sites. Press That! allows users to aggregate unfiltered news appealing to the urban community. The site caters to an audience that doesn't define themselves as fitting into one definitive category but rather as a fusion of categories. Press That! prides itself on having its users decide what is important rather than an old, "disconnected" news director.

The hip users of Press That! use the social news voting site to share news and information that matters to them through posting blog messages, pictures and even videos. Users can even place a Press That! application on their favorite social networking site like MySpace or Facebook.

"The mainstream media is not giving this target audience what they want" says co-creator Merritt Traughber. "Our site does by posting information tailored to the interests of the urban community. Everything on Press That! is submitted and prioritized by people just like them."

ps: I wanted to take a tour of their website but could not do so... may be it is their tour operator's holiday!

Where is the Lazy Libarary.

Lazy Library-a peculiar name-isn't it? I sense a subtle humor in the name. What about you?
Aren't all libraries lack brisk activity? I suppose one call a library as a lazy place.

In this library there is a unique condition-again I will relate it to the laziness. No book should be more than 200 pages.

Another thing that struck me is the lack of information on the home. It contains may be about 100 words only. It only has a search function and link to 'About' page that is rather hidden behind another link.

Ok, I did a search foe 'Blog' and it yielded a result that has amay a dozen books on blogging, of which, a few examples are given below.
*The Blogging Church
*Publish and Prosper: Blogging for Your Business
*The Rough Guide to Blogging 1 (Rough Guide Reference)

Of course, all the books are less than 201 pages.biggrin

Gray Boxx makes your searches easier.

“I want to find out the best architect in Coral Gables.”

“Can you recommend some computer service centers in Manhattan?”

“Whom can I approach for the best auto insurance quotes in the state of Boston?”

The answer to all these questions is the Gray Boxx. The extra ‘x’ is not a spelling mistake.smile

Gray Boxx is a localized search engine covering many major cities and small towns. They have 185 million recommendations in over 4000 categories that include restaurants, health clubs, architects, computer service and auto insurance and so on.

That is a staggering amount-right? With that kind of database, I would expect millions of people to get benefited.

Almost every listing has feedbacks from users. Every listing is clearly located in a map and if you ask for directions to reach, their system asks your starting place before giving directions.

The website is surprisingly simple and the navigation is smooth as silk.

PHD in Public Safety – Emergency Management.

There is a glaring lack of highly skilled leaders in ‘Emergency Management’ in India. Newspaper reports point out the deficit of educated personnel who are adept in organizing training to field forces who lend support to the society in times crisis.

But newspapers stop at the point of reporting and they don’t suggest ways to overcome this lacuna. If given an opportunity, I will address the situation and lead the interested persons to get themselves qualified academically by taking up a PhD program in Public safety-Emergency Management, a rare combination of course offered by the capella university.

This exclusive PhD program will empower those engaged in law enforcement, fire services, emergency communications, or other public safety fields.

Founded in 1993, Capella University is an accredited*, fully online university that offers graduate online degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, public health, public safety, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety.

Real Estate website of a different kind.

Have you heard of Adrian Liang? Nor do I till today. Now I wish I had known him for a long time. He is brilliantly creative and designed his real estate website in an innovative way.

How many websites in his niche have you seen with maps showing the locations of the properties on the home page itself?

Flyrig.com opens with a map of New York city and the properties for rent are shown in a clickable balloon.

FlyRig.com has broker reviews, searchable local interest information (such as restaurants, stores, and schools), and public transportation information combined together in a Google maps mashup. Users can rate brokers and comment on their listings, pointing out discrepancies between the description and actual unit, or providing additional information on local interest points.

Movable maps:
I have never visited New York city but I have heard of several landmarks and Brooklyn is one of them. I searched a for an apartment in Brooklyn and landed on a page half of which occupied with various listings of properties and the other half of that page (split vertically) showed a map that can be moved with the help of the mouse to view the exact location of the properties listed.

You do one thing; visit this page and you will know what I am talking about.

New shop and save website.

Don't discard this information as junk; you may stand to lose.

Pronto is a very good comparison shop online with a good range of products in its database. Apart from the main advantage of such compare and shop sites where we can save money, we come to know a variety of new products from several manufacturers that will enable us to re-plan our shopping preferences.

They say that they offer over 70 million products from over 65,000 stores. isn't that attractive that speaks something about them? Pronto.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of IAC/InterActiveCorp (NASDAQ: IACI), which operates Ask.com, Citysearch, HSN, LendingTree, Match.com, Ticketmaster, Evite, and others.

When I review a web site, I look for some press reports that are unsolicited. Here is a report from the monet division of CNN on Pronto.com:
"Traffic to Google Product Search, a service that helps shoppers find and buy products online, has plummeted in the last year while competing services from rivals such as InterActiveCorp [Pronto.com]...have grown or held steady." CNNMoney.com, December 12, 2007

The website is somewhat slow in loading different inner pages. The layout is simple and less confusing.

No more come down.

There are no whispers! There is a loud talk in the financial circle that gold is touching record high and it is very likely that gold may touch $1000 levels soon.

If we are shrewd and can deduce correctly from this report, then the price of gold and naturally, silver too is not likely to come down. It is my habit to follow the overall market trend and the earlier records of my investment on precious metals is a proof that I have a good habit.biggrin

Even the authority on precious metals Monex is echoing the sentiment of the market and they say that there may never be a better time for buying silver bullion than right now.

So if you are one of those waiting for gold or silver to cool down, then the chances are remote.

Would you like to purchase a bag of silver coins or a few silver ingots? Monex sells in both the form.

Want to sell ad space?

Why internet advertising is the most effective method in the advertising industry? To my knowledge, it is the possibility of reaching only the desired targets through niche websites and blogs.

For example, I am a manufacturer of fashion jewels and gems. Naturally, I am looking to target ladies preferably. So, I will look out for websites and blogs that are targeted at women, celebrities, frequent online shoppers and blogs that deal with new gift ideas.

Grinonneau.com is a full pledged internet advertising website that targets big corporates. There is no mention of fixed rates for advertising when I clicked on the 'pricing' tab in their website.

In fact, I could deduce nothing concrete in their website. But in a Press Release to PR Compass,
their division president, Brian Grinonneau, said “as Internet advertising becomes more attractive to all advertisers, it makes sense for us to help website owners make money by selling advertising on their site.

Grinonneau.com is the e-commerce division of McMann & Tate, has been involved in e-commerce, search engine and viral marketing for nearly 10 years.

There is no registration form for interested webmasters to let the company know of their interest in selling ad space.

Have they released their PR a little too early? I feel I could have written a better PR.

Not sure what to say in a given situation?

It happens to almost all of us. In fact, lack of confidence to continue a conversation makes people shy away from going to parties and other social events.

I can say that I don't have this problem but I know many who have this predicament.

For them, here is a website (What should I say?) wherein all sorts of such questions are asked and are answered too.

Here is a perfect question for an example: biggrin
"How do I accept compliments and not come off like a weirdo? Usually, when someone tells me they like my shirt or jacket, I say “thanks” and then I squirm a little. Simply saying “thanks” seems to shut conversation down immediately. What else can I say to open the person up?"

The answer is given by a registered member called Sreneedi as below:
" You would say, "thanks so much, I got this jacket for Christmas last year," and just move on the conversation from there with something relating to what you just said. (i.e. gift giving, gifts etc.) It would also be appropriate to compliment the person on something they're wearing, assuming you actually like the article of clothing/bike etc."

Nice-isn't it?

Your questions can be from any of these topics:
Business, Emgergencies, Friends & Family, Legal Matters, Miscellaneous, Relationships
Religion, Sports and work.

Would like to ask or would like to answer?
