An Encyclopedia of Mythology.
Well, the contemporary children will not even realize what they will be missing.
Oh, yes, I have found out a website called Pantheon. It is an online encyclopedia of mythology where people can search for mythology, folklore, bestiary etc.
I think this is an unique kind of search engine and I would personally enthrall myself reading ancient mythology. I am deeply interested in knowing about Polynesia. The Polynesian women are supposed to be beautiful and their sense of flowers is legendary.

Grow your your real estate business.
This is one network I would call a real business network and real estate is a business that thrives on contacts alone apart from integrity of the real estate businessmen.
They provide an opportunity for you to create a profile that is viewed by other members of the community. You can give a link to your website or blog where you have more details of your business and about you as a person.
Whats more, you are given your blog by Active Rain itself to promote your business. Also you can join groups started by others and you can also create your own group such as Brokers group, mortgage group and so on.
ActiveRain is a Bellevue, WA based technology/media company hybrid that operates the largest and most active social network in the real estate space.

25 technology pranks.
I take it as it is and not attach anything more to it.
I started liking pranks after I watched the TV show, "Just for laughs", an out and out pranks show.
I stumbled onto a web site about 25 different technology pranks, all played at your friend's PC. When browsing through the 25 pranks, I have so far moved only up to the third one before I started to write this blog post.
I am pretty impressed with the continuous re-start game and here is how it goes:
"When you get a chance, sneak over and right-click your pal’s icon to Internet Explorer or some other commonly used program. Edit the properties and change the target to: “%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00″ Now, every time your buddy tries to run IE, his machine will mysteriously restart.."
Read all the pranks there by clicking on the link abobe. You will simply love them.

Ways to cut home enrgy consumption.
The whole world is taring at the imminent oil ration and I predict it may be just around the corner though I wish it should not happen.
In this scenario, every house hold is asked to reduce energy consumption and ideas are pouring in from all parts of the world. Internet is filled with articles and blog posts on ways to cut down home energy consumption. Here is a blog post that speaks about 10 ways to achieve it.
While I appreciate the blogger's effort, I wonder why he has not about sharing the transportation. American's are accused of using giant cars that guzzles gas and only a single person will travel in that car.
PDA medical software.
When I walked into the hospital room, it seemed like a florists shop. Red, pink, white and yellow flowered bouquets were stacked on the utility table. The sight was moving and I felt a choke in my throat.
My mother-in-law was unmoved by all the attention and naturally concerned about the diagnosis. I assured her that everything will become alright as the doctors are all highly qualified.
The hospital was equipped with all the hi-tech gadgets and every doctor carry they mobile drug guide and are accessible to thousands of medicines for very type of physical condition.
PDA medical software by companies, such as Epocrates, Inc., can be credited for making pocket-size devices a staple in physicians’ lab coats.
The physician would pull out his trusted mobile device to check for effective medicines, and also check out potentially harmful interactions between any two drugs before writing the prescription – all without leaving the exam room.
I knew my mother-in-law was in safe hands.
This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.

Hyperwords-an excellent add on to Mozilla.

Yesterday's (15th June) edition of Times of India was extremely useful. The stand out is an article about 'Hyperwords'-an add on to your browser. This add on will basically enable you to convert just any word you see anywhere in the web as a hyperword.
This means, when you highlight a text and right click on it, a pop up menu appears with 'Hyperwords' at the top of the menu. When you move your cursor over it, a sub menu displays through which, you can search Google on that highlighted word, look for references, shop at Amazon, translate to several languages, copy, email and blog.
It is an amazing utility that will make our web life easier and fun.
See a demo here.
These are the commands available to us when we hight a word.
Search engines: including sites, blogs, academic, people, news, pictures and video.
References: Wikipedia, Google Books, Wiktionary, Answers.com, Internet Movie Database, World Factbook, Dictionary, UrbanDictionary, Quotations, Acronymfinder and share price.
Translation between numerous languages.
Conversions between currencies and other units.
Go via Google Lucky, URL and Skype.
Copy text plain or with URL.
Print page or selection.
Shop at 8 Internet shops including Amazon, eBay and iTunes.
Email with your desktop email program or via Gmail & Yahoo! Mail.
Tag with 6 different taggers and search.
Blog with Blogger and WordPress as well as blog search with Technorati, IceRocket and Clusty.
Blog subscribe with My Yahoo NewsGator, MyAOL, Rojo, Bloglines, NetVbes & Google.
Look up maps, local time, weather and package tracking.
Page Information about the page you are looking at including what pages link to it and who owns it.
...all in a single click!
Times of India says, " Hyperwords is a relatively new idea, and so far it has fewer than 200,000 users. But it is one of a number of new initiatives designed to transform internet browsing, by providing more connections between data, presenting information in new ways and making it easier to navigate."

Free Podcast.

In my Laws of Universe blog, I have installed a free service that when clicked on will read the content of my blog post in a crystal clear voice with no accent.
The service is provided by Odiogo.com
Similarly, Read the Words is a free online service that will read aloud any text you enter. You can upload a file in MS Word, Adobe PDF, HTML, a URL or even RSS Feed!
You can ask the voice to read English, Spanish and French and you are allowed to use several readers.
They say that it takes less than 1 minute to cover 1 hour reading material. You can then download the sound file as MP3!

Redirectional URL 301.
Generally affiliate URLs provided many companies like CJ used to be at least two lines long. It will be quite awkward to type in web form while promoting in the Web. Sometimes, it used to bleed over the box/frames in free classified sites.
To make the long the story.. I am sorry, to make the long URL short, there are free services in the Internet. 301 URL is one such service where you are offered a shortened URL and at the same time, a SEO friendly re-directional URL.
"A 301 redirect tells search engines, like Google for example, that the requested content has been permanently moved to a new location. Search engines then adjust their search engine results to reflect the new location and dump the old URL."
This service is launched by PRWeb, a leading press release company online.
